WHY DO WE NEED TO CLEAN?

Cleaning keeps us safe from health hazards.

As moms, it is our job to care for our family’s health. In fact, it is a priority. And cleaning our homes and surroundings plays a big part in achieving a healthy family. It keeps away bacteria and germs from populating inside our homes. Suppose you have babies and toddlers at home who are fond of picking up things off the floor and putting anything in their mouths. In that case, it is a no-brainer that we must keep our cleaning tools and disinfectants at hand.

Cleaning keeps us organized.

This is such a lifesaver for me. Cleaning keeps me organized. Our homes won’t stay clean, ain’t we? Dust and dirt will naturally keep piling up. Cleaning every part of our homes becomes easier if you have that cleaning schedule ready. I’ve made this 30-Day Declutter Challenge printable to make my life easier, giving it away for free! If you still need to check it out, here is the link to the free download.

It keeps us away from stress.

If you are like me, who finds peace and calm in having a clean and organized home, I know you can relate when I say that it keeps me away from stress. It immediately makes my mood better if I come home to a clean home. Having a clean house and surroundings is like therapy for our mental health. Being a mother is already taking up much of our energy, so let’s de-stress in a clean home.

Cleaning makes things easier to find.

Have you ever had that annoying experience when you cannot find your keys, the spoon, or that paper or mail? I do! And it is very stressful when that happens! So, in this journey of motherhood, cleaning has helped me build up that system of having proper places to keep things in order. I love having storage boxes with labels on them! They’re my favorites. I have them in the kitchen cabinets, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and every corner of our home! Say no to misplaced items no more.

Cleaning makes our home a living space, not a storage room.

I think not so many people realize it, but believe it or not, many homes are “storage rooms” nowadays.

Well, think about these:

  • 90 percent of your couch is full of items you bought weeks ago. Only a part of it is available for sitting on.
  • You tip-toed your way in the hallway to reach the rest of the house.
  • Your pantry is so messy that you can’t tell where and when you bought some of them anymore.
  • The bedroom floor is full of clothes. Your closet is overflowing, and your bed is stuffed that you settle for sleeping on the bedroom couch.

I can go on and on, but if your house is something like those I’ve mentioned or almost looking like it, it is high time you start that cleaning-up process. Make it happen.

CONCLUSION

These are just some of the many reasons why we need to clean. I’ll be adding some more as I discover more about it. For now, it is our job as moms to always clean our homes and surroundings. And have that taught to our children as well by teaching them the basics of cleaning.
