Hi there! I’m so happy you’re here!
My name is Rona.
a stay-at-home breastfeeding advocate mom living in Taiwan.
And I am the owner and author of this blog, THE PRODUCTIVE MOM BLOG.
I am a mother to two beautiful girls: Sarah, age 8, and Sharlene, age 3.
We are a Christian family.
My husband is a pastor serving in a local Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.
I serve our church alongside my husband in the music ministry.
Why I started this Breastfeeding Mom blog?
First off, I am so happy to let you know that I have been currently listed as one of the many stay-at-home blogger moms at Feedspot at #9! You can check the list out at Feedspot SAHM list here!
I started this blog with the goal of inspiring fellow moms who are on the journey of breastfeeding themselves.
Yes, I know it doesn’t reflect my domain name. But that’s because, as I blog, the breastfeeding posts have the most views.
So, I’ve decided to niche down to this particular topic because I’ve seen that many other moms are struggling and need helpful articles about nursing their babies.
And as a breastfeeding mom of three years (yep! in the weaning stage already!), I know how frustrating and painful it is to want to breastfeed initially, but without support, it is easier to give up, right?
When it should not be like that.
That’s why I want to help from personal experiences and research to provide you with helpful tips and information on how to succeed in your breastfeeding journey.
Yes, I must tell you that breastfeeding may have its challenges, but being successful at it is possible.
I know how challenges can break your will to give the best milk to your little one.
In fact, many moms just chose to give up. And that’s totally okay.
But if you are a mom who advocates breastfeeding, then this blog is for you.
A Little Bit About My Breastfeeding Journey
I used to hate being a mom the first time. I didn’t want to admit it, I was feeling selfish all the time. Motherhood did not sink in that well in me yet.
I longed to have my “me time.” I longed to return to work because I felt fulfilled in the workplace. I’ve been independent since I went to college and lived independently, having financial responsibilities for myself and my family. I missed all that.
But then, something happened to me when my maternity leave ended. I missed my baby! She was only four months when I left her.
Gladly, my husband could attend to her full-time while I was at work since most of his pastoral duties were after work hours and on the weekends.
I saw how he got so close to our baby. She looked for her dad more than she yearned for me. It made my heart sad.
I did breastfeed her exclusively. Because I highly believe in giving her the best by giving her my breastmilk. And I was successful at that.
To ensure she’s getting breastmilk, I switched to pumping at work so my supply won’t stop and my baby has enough stock for when I am away. So you will see many articles about breastfeeding here on my blog.
I’d decided to quit working and become a stay-at-home full-time mom to cut to the chase.
These are my reasons:
- Being present matters. As a preschool teacher, I’ve learned that the early years are the most critical in a person’s life. So, I wanted to be there by being present and giving my best to help my kids develop a solid foundation to become well-functioning and emotionally intelligent adults.
- Having to take care of them by myself. I was raised having a mother around all the time. And I feel blessed to always tell stories from my childhood with my mom in most of it.
So I wanted to give that to my daughters as well. And I am reaping the love because my girls are so sweet and affectionate. Their hugs and kisses are my favorites. They cheer me up nicely when they say I am “the prettiest mom in the world,” even though I sometimes don’t feel like one! Haha!
To add this up, I respect and admire working moms, too. I do! Every mother is fantastic wherever they are on the journey. Because it is true. Mothers know best!
That’s why I want to write about every experience, both the challenges and victories of motherhood, particularly breastfeeding because it is worth sharing.
And please be rest assured that I am citing health facts in my posts so that you are being provided with only reliable information from reliable sources and health professionals.
There will be product reviews and lists of breastfeeding essentials that I highly recommend that have helped me in my journey and that I know will help you, too.
